Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
Father’s Day and my birthday, the two greatest days of the year to use as an opportunity to do absolutely nothing and be okay with it!
Some of you have received these for 10 plus years, some are reading for the first time. The theme of my dad, both alive and then passing on 12/21/22 has been woven through so many of these thoughts. He is, was, and will always be, my personal hero. He has had a massive impact on my life. Anything I am today that is good is a direct correlation of having my dad as my dad. I’ve mentioned many of times the concept of “because of” people or “in spite of” people. Moms and Dads are the ultimate example of this question for children to contemplate. All goodness in me is “because of” my dad (and my mom). I have amazing people around me who are crushing life “in spite of” their parents. One could make the argument the “in spite of” role is more powerful. It takes more energy to buck a trend than to continue with the momentum of a healthy relationship. I only know I want Jack and Thomas to look at anything good in their life as having a “because of” correlation to me vs. a “in spite of” correlation to me. It’s something to contemplate, especially as parents.
I’ve mentioned this before but when I was cleaning out my dad’s office the week after he passed, I found “The Ripple Effect” in a frame on his desk. I’m not sure if there were 700 or 800 people at his service, I only know it was standing room only “because of” who he was and the imprint he left on so many. He was the ultimate example of the ripple effect.

-IF YOU DO THAT YOU WILL EARN RESPECT AND BE A POWERFUL INFLUENCE.
-YOUR BEHAVIOR INFLUENCES OTHERS THROUGH A “RIPPLE EFFECT”.
-A RIPPLE EFFECT WORKS BECAUSE EVERYONE INFLUENCES EVERYONE ELSE.
-POWERFUL PEOPLE ARE POWERFUL INFLUENCES.
-IF YOUR LIFE WORKS -YOU INFLUENCE YOUR FAMILY.
-IF YOUR FAMILY WORKS-YOU INFLUENCE THE COMMUNITY.
-IF YOUR COMMUNITY WORKS YOUR COMMUNITY INFLUENCES THE NATION.
-IF YOUR NATION WORKS -YOUR NATION INFLUENCES THE WORLD.
-IF YOUR WORLD WORKS -THE RIPPLE EFFECT SPREADS THRUOUT THE COSMOS.
-REMEMBER THAT YOUR INFLUENCE BEGINS WITH YOU AND RIPPLES OUTWARD, SO BE SURE YOUR INFLUENCE IS BOTH POTENT AND WHOLESOME.
-HOW DO I KNOW THIS WORKS ?
-ALL GROWTH SPREADS OUTWARD FROM A FERTILE AND POTENT NUCLEUS.
-YOU ARE A NUCLEUS.
