Structure. Accountability. Leadership

Team-

What a week…..I’m officially wiped out and its great to be back with the family. With that said, I had a blast with all of you.

A few brief thoughts for today:

Coaching moving forward: We had 270 students at the event and 140 guests (people who don’t get coached but wanted to see what we were all about. Keep in mind those people still had to send in their tax returns to show they did the volume to attend the event in the first place). Of the 140 guests, 109 of them want to spend the $2500/month to be coached by us . Of the 109, we will only take 30. I’m telling you this because the bar has been raised again. In our coaching debrief on Saturday morning, we discussed “trimming the fat” for existing students. This is not a threat and I don’t believe I have a single student not committed but I think its fair to mention that we need to be bringing our A game to this program at all times. There are absolutely people who want to stay in the program, but who are not committed weekly, who will be cut this semester. This is good for all of us as it keeps the environment competitive and growth centered. HW gets done, we implement, we execute, and we grow. You do not want to be doing anything less than your best right now.

Aha moment for me (2 of them). I taught a class on “big teams”, and although I prepared for it ahead of time, when i was teaching the class it became painfully simple how easily we can break down our business.

1. Structure (do we have clearly defined roles and responsibilities for our teams).

2. Accountability (how do we track the results and what do we do about it)…If we hold people accountable weekly, it takes all emotions out of the equation (you did or you didn’t).

3. Leadership (how are we leading our teams on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly……basis)….All comes back to us.

The 2nd one for me was our guest speaker: We do our best at work, when our family life is in its best place…..My priorities are unintentionally out of whack and I need to bring them back into place…..Starting with the ones I love.

Love you guys and look forward to speaking with you this week.
