Happy Sunday Everyone:
Team did Glide Memorial Food Kitchen on Friday. Left the RPM parking lot at 5:45AM, back in the office by 10:30. Doing work for others, as a team, is rejuvenating, and important. It’s a great thing to do just because it’s a great thing to do, but what it does for your team is crazy. Timing always seems to be off, always too many loans, too many problems, too many call backs, and too many emails to respond to….and then it’s over, and we have just the right amount of loans, not too many problems, not too many call backs, or emails….why is that? Nothing changed in the amount loans/calls/problems/emails….only thing that changed was attitude, gratitude, and perspective….and from that, the mindset, and from that everything falls into place with more joy. If it sounds mushy, just try it. I had my best Friday in a while and I believe it’s because of our morning as a team. I know this group on Sunday Thoughts gives a ton of money away, and I know if you ask a charity what they want, they may prefer money, but we need to actually volunteer too. Selfishly-you get more out of it than just writing a check, do both if you want extra credit. If we know the way we like that feeling, when we were charitable, when we chose to do something for someone, when someone needed us, and we were there for them….if we like that feeling, why wouldn’t we do it more? Hold yourself accountable to do more. Sign up for something, for us its 6X a year at Glide….the best part is once you’re signed up, you’d have to be a serious jackass to cancel on them….which I considered Wednesday…very glad I didn’t!
